To establish an advanced legal information centre that inspires a culture of inquiry, supports legal research and practice, and contributes to the pursuit of justice through knowledge.

To provide timely, comprehensive, and user-friendly access to legal information resources — both print and digital — thereby supporting teaching, learning, research, and professional growth. The library aims to empower every student and scholar with the skills to locate, evaluate, and apply legal information effectively in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Our Collections and Resources

RK Law College Library maintains a diverse and expanding repository of legal and interdisciplinary materials designed to meet the needs of students, faculty, and researchers.

Print Resources:

  • An extensive collection of textbooks, case reporters, bare acts, law journals, reference books, and legislative materials, carefully catalogued and regularly updated.
  • Specialized sections dedicated to constitutional law, criminal law, corporate law, human rights, jurisprudence, and international law.
  • Access to law commission reports, government notifications, and legal encyclopaedias to aid in-depth legal research.

Periodicals and Current Awareness:

  • Subscriptions to leading Indian and international law journals, newspapers, and magazines to keep users updated on emerging legal developments.
  • Weekly digests summarizing recent Supreme Court and High Court judgments, legislative amendments, and landmark case analyses.

User Guidelines / Code of Conduct

To maintain a conducive academic environment, all members are expected to follow library protocols:

  1. Maintain silence and decorum within the library premises.
  2. Handle books and equipment with utmost care.
  3. Return borrowed materials on or before the due date.
  4. Report lost or damaged materials immediately to library staff.
  5. Use digital facilities strictly for educational and research purposes.
  6. Observe copyright laws and fair-use policies when accessing or reproducing content.
  7. Keep personal belongings in designated areas and refrain from bringing food or beverages inside.

Outreach and Engagement

Reading Facility:
A quiet, comfortable reading hall is available for students and faculty members.

Lending Service:
The lending section includes prescribed textbooks and reference materials, issued to students for a period of seven days. Faculty members enjoy an extended lending privilege with no limit on the number of books borrowed.

Special Lending:
Multiple books are issued in special circumstances, particularly to students participating in inter-collegiate or national-level competitions.

Reference Assistance:
Expert guidance is provided to students and faculty in locating relevant legal material, particularly for Moot Court, Client Counselling, and Debate Competitions.

Special Information Service:
Tailored support is extended to participants in academic competitions and research activities.

Current Awareness Service:
Weekly law-related news clippings are displayed on the library notice board and archived under subject-wise files for future reference.

Electronic Resources:
The library subscribes to Manupatra, AIR Online, and EBC Reader e-Library, offering access to judgments of the Supreme Court (since 1950), High Courts (since 1965), and Privy Council cases (1930–1950), along with e-books and e-journals.
Additionally, access to N-LIST (INFLIBNET) extends the collection to multidisciplinary e-resources.

Internet Facility:
Free internet access is available for academic and research purposes. The library also manages a dedicated digital blog where updates, resources, and academic discussions are regularly published.

Computerized Catalogue:
A user-friendly, intranet-based catalogue enables easy and efficient searching through SLIM software.

Book Bank Facility:
A special Book Bank service benefits students from reserved categories and financially challenged backgrounds.
